Sorry, ‘ViCat’ shippers: Catriona Gray responds to being linked to Vico Sotto
Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray set the record straight on what's happening between her and Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto.
Earlier in June, social media users noticed she and Vico started following each other on Instagram. The beauty queen's Instagram posts would get comments about it.
"Bigla ako kinilig na finallow siya ni Mayor Vico," one user wrote.
"ViCat!! Yes??" another added.
"[Vico] bagay kayo," chimed in another.
In an interview during the Mega Ball 2025, Catriona finally addressed the "shipping."
“Follow-an lang, mutuals lang,” she said.
Catriona was surprised to be 'shipped' with Vico. “There’s nothing really much more than a mutual follow.”
In February this year, actor Sam Milby confirmed his split with Catriona. While they kept details of their relationship under wraps, they went public in 2020 and got engaged in 2023.
Vico has been the mayor of Pasig City since 2019. Since taking office, the local executive's love life has been a topic of discussion among social media users.
In a May interview on Unang Balita, Arnold Clavio asked Vico about the state of his heart and if he had plans to marry.
"Okay lang po. Darating at darating naman po 'yan," he said. "Siguro itong nakaraan na anim na taon, sobra sa trabaho rin."
In 2019, the mayor echoed this, telling GMA News that he didn't have time when asked if he had a girlfriend.
"Talagang 'pag may free time ako, mas gusto ko pang matulog or magpahinga na lang."
A year later, in May 2020, Vico shared with RX93.1 that his ideal partner is someone who's smart and easygoing.
